National Dengue Day celebration

On the occasion of National Dengue Day, observed annually on 16th May, the faculty of MVP’s Institute of Nursing Education (INE) actively participated in a community awareness rally aimed at promoting the prevention and control of Dengue fever.

The event was conducted to educate the public on Dengue-related issues, including symptoms, transmission, and preventive measures. Faculty members joined hands with nursing students to lead the rally through nearby communities, raising slogans, distributing informative pamphlets, and engaging residents in discussions about mosquito control and hygiene practices.

Faculty played a crucial role in:

  • Guiding and mentoring students in effective community communication.

  • Ensuring accurate health education was delivered during the outreach.

  • Encouraging public participation and collaboration in preventing the spread of Dengue.

Their presence not only added credibility to the awareness drive but also motivated students to actively participate and understand the importance of public health nursing in real-life settings.

This event exemplified the institute’s commitment to health promotion and disease prevention through community-based learning. It also reinforced the vital role nurses and educators play in shaping healthier communities.

“Awareness is the first step toward prevention. As educators, it is our responsibility to lead by example,” said Dr. Pournima Naik, Principal.

The rally was well-received by the community and served as a meaningful experience for students and faculty alike, underlining the importance of active involvement in national health initiatives.
