International Yoga Day

International Yoga Day is celebrated every year on June 21st to raise awareness about the many benefits of practicing yoga. First proposed by India and adopted by the United Nations in 2014, this day highlights the importance of integrating physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.

Yoga, an ancient practice that originated in India, combines physical postures, breathing exercises, and meditation to improve flexibility, strength, and mindfulness. Events on this day often include mass yoga demonstrations, workshops, and health talks, encouraging people of all ages to embrace a healthier lifestyle.

This year, MVP’s Institute of Nursing Education (INE), in collaboration with the Medical College, celebrated the occasion with enthusiasm. The event included yoga exercises led by trained instructors and saw active participation from students and staff alike. The session fostered a spirit of unity and well-being within the academic community, reinforcing the value of yoga as a tool for holistic health.
