National Library Day Celebration at MVP’s Institute of Nursing Education, Nashik

The National Library Day was celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm at MVP’s Institute of Nursing Education, Nashik, to acknowledge and honor the pivotal role libraries play in education, research, and the lifelong learning process. This day also pays tribute to Dr. S.R. Ranganathan, the father of Library Science in India, whose birth anniversary is commemorated as National Library Day.

Under the inspiring leadership of Dr. Pournima Naik, Principal, the event saw active participation from students and faculty alike. The celebration emphasized the importance of libraries as centers of knowledge, personal development, and academic excellence.

A special session was held where students were encouraged to explore the value of reading, access to information, and the responsible use of library resources. Teachers spoke on the five laws of library science proposed by Dr. Ranganathan, highlighting how they remain relevant in today’s digital age.

To mark the occasion, a floral tribute was offered in front of a decorated portrait of Dr. Ranganathan and Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, symbolizing respect toward two visionaries who have deeply influenced education and knowledge-sharing.

Students took a reading pledge, committing themselves to regularly make use of library resources and promote the reading culture among peers. The institute also showcased educational posters, motivational quotes, and a selection of inspiring books available in the library.

The event concluded with a group photo capturing the spirit of unity and dedication among the participants. The celebration of National Library Day served as a reminder that libraries are not just buildings, but gateways to lifelong learning and discovery.
