Interactive Session on Career Guidance & Foreign Language Orientation Programme

An insightful and interactive session on Career Guidance and Foreign Language Orientation was successfully conducted on 6th December 2024 for the T.Y. GNM, Final Year B.Sc. Nursing, and Final Year M.Sc. Nursing students. The programme aimed to inform and inspire nursing students about international career opportunities and the importance of language proficiency for working abroad.

The session was graced by distinguished speakers from the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). Mr. Mohammad Kalam, Regional Head (West Zone), and Ms. Mayuri, District Coordinator (West), shared valuable guidance on various employment prospects for nurses in countries like Germany and Japan. They emphasized the increasing global demand for skilled healthcare professionals and highlighted how Indian nurses can successfully pursue rewarding careers overseas.

A key point of the discussion was the significance of clearing the respective entrance examinations for foreign placements. The speakers elaborated on various preparatory strategies and resources that could assist students in achieving this. Mr. Kalam also stressed the importance of undergoing a minimum three-month language training program, particularly in German or Japanese, depending on the country of employment, to enhance communication skills and cultural adaptability.

The session proved to be highly engaging and purposeful, with a clear agenda and experienced speakers who were both informative and motivating. Students actively participated in the discussion and expressed keen interest in the opportunities presented.
