World Cancer Day 2025 Celebrated at MVP’s Institute of Nursing Education

On 4th February 2025, MVP’s Institute of Nursing Education (INE) observed World Cancer Day with great enthusiasm and purpose, under the global theme of “Close the Care Gap.” The event aimed to spread awareness about cancer prevention, early detection, and the importance of compassionate care.

To mark the occasion, eminent guests from HCG Manavata Hospital were invited to conduct a special session on breast cancer awareness. Their presence added immense value to the event, as they shared expert knowledge and real-life insights with the students and faculty members.

The session focused on the early signs and symptoms of breast cancer, screening methods, preventive measures, and the psychosocial aspects of cancer care. It also included interactive discussions, myth-busting facts, and guidance on how nursing professionals can contribute to cancer education and support within the community.

The program began with a welcome speech, followed by enlightening talks from the HCG team, and concluded with a Q&A session that allowed participants to engage actively and clarify their doubts. Educational materials and awareness pamphlets were also distributed.

The event successfully inspired nursing students to take a proactive role in cancer awareness and reinforced the importance of empathy and early intervention in cancer care. It served as a reminder that every action, no matter how small, can make a difference in the fight against cancer.
