🌱 Miyawaki Project

The Miyawaki Project at Maratha Vidya Prasarak Samaj, Nashik, was inaugurated in January 2025 under a CSR initiative by HDFC Life. This project follows the Akira Miyawaki technique, which promotes the rapid growth of dense, native forests in a short time.

Covering 9000 sq. ft. with over 3000 native trees representing 48 species, the plantation is designed to grow 10 times faster and 30 times denser than traditional afforestation methods. It restores the ecological balance by supporting local biodiversity including birds, insects, and small wildlife.

This initiative not only enhances green cover but also educates the community on sustainable environmental practices. The project’s success lies in its ability to transform barren land into a thriving ecosystem within just 2–3 years, offering long-term environmental benefits.
