Poshan Pandharwada Celebration (7th to 12th April 2025)

The First Year B.Sc Nursing and First Year GNM students enthusiastically celebrated Poshan Pandharwada, an initiative focused on spreading awareness about the importance of nutrition in maintaining good health and preventing diseases.

Under the able guidance of Principal Dr. Pournima Naik and the dedicated staff of the Nutrition Department, the students engaged in a hands-on learning experience by preparing a wide variety of nutritious food dishes tailored to specific health conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, anemia, malnutrition, and more. Each dish was carefully planned according to the nutritional requirements for the respective diseases, demonstrating both theoretical knowledge and practical application.

As part of their curriculum nutrition lab practices, students not only gained valuable cooking skills but also learned to integrate diet therapy principles into patient care. The lab sessions served as a platform for students to apply classroom learning in a real-world context, further enhancing their understanding of dietetics in nursing.

The students presented their dishes confidently in front of evaluators, explaining the nutritional value, ingredients used, method of preparation, and health benefits. The evaluators appreciated the students’ efforts, creativity, and understanding of therapeutic nutrition. The event successfully combined education with creativity, teamwork, and practical skills.

The celebration of Poshan Pandharwada was not only an academic activity but also a meaningful step towards fostering awareness about the importance of proper nutrition in healthcare. The students put forth commendable effort, and the event concluded on a successful and impactful note.
