“Reading Inspiration Day” Din Celebration at MVP’s Institute of Nursing Education, Nashik

On 15th October 2024, Vachan Prerna Din (Reading Inspiration Day), also known as Library Day, was celebrated with great enthusiasm at MVP’s Institute of Nursing Education, Nashik. The event was held in honor of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, India’s former President and a legendary scientist, to inspire students to cultivate the habit of reading and value knowledge as a lifelong tool for growth and empowerment.

The celebration was conducted under the able leadership and guidance of Dr. Pournima Naik, Principal, and was actively participated in by students and faculty members. The event commenced with the lighting of the lamp and floral tribute to Dr. Kalam’s portrait, symbolizing respect and remembrance for his invaluable contributions to the nation.

During the event, the students were addressed about the importance of reading in professional and personal development. A motivational speech highlighting Dr. Kalam’s thoughts on education, reading, and self-discipline was delivered by faculty, followed by reflections shared by students on how reading has influenced their lives.

A special reading pledge was taken by all attendees, committing to read regularly and spread the message of knowledge. The institute also showcased a small exhibition of inspirational books, posters, and quotes by Dr. Kalam, aiming to spark curiosity and encourage reading among students.

A group photograph was taken at the end of the event, capturing the unity and enthusiasm of the participants, gathered around the decorated reading corner dedicated to Dr. Kalam.

This meaningful observance of Library Day served as a reminder of Dr. Kalam’s famous words:
“One best book is equal to a hundred good friends, but one good friend is equal to a library.”

The event concluded on a thoughtful note, leaving students inspired to explore the world of books and knowledge with renewed interest and dedication.
